Check the search engines link popularity tools and see who they have indexed that links to you too. What you will find is that you might have 200 links back to you as reported by Yahoo and only 10 as reported by Google. I changed my policy and only will link back to sites whose link page is indexed by Google. You are right on the mark that many links are not worth the effort, there are many scammers out there that are attempting to take advantage of people not in the know. Your blog and links shows how to catch those people.<BR/><BR/>I've noticed that google is penalizing or taking many link farms out of their index altogether.
